“ Went in and a rowdy group of 7 or 8 men were shouting so loud that I couldn't hear my partner or the manager (who was trying to speak loudly for me to hear). I wish I was exaggerating when I say one of the men were yelling so loudly to talk over his peers that his face turned red. The manager moved us to a different room which helped a lot. The Wagyu flight had some complications and people that came after us were served first even though they ordered after. We were comped with a round of free drinks to make up for it which was nice. The Wagyu flight was really good. Of course, the Japanese Wagyu stole the show! It was super pricey but cool to come and experience for occasion. ”

“ In town for the essence festival, my friends insisted that we go to the Doris Metropolitan and I have never heard of it before and I've been to New Orleans more times than I can count. It was amazing evening, the restaurant is laid out and way that feels spacious and almost feels like private dining rooms. The service was phenomenal the owner the weight staff were all attentive and engaged. Our server pointed out the specials answered all of our questions.. I had the spring moon cocktail which was a satisfying combination of citrus, lychee, rose, elderflower, and vodka. For dinner, I had truffle fries and the classified cut with the root purée and grilled asparagus. My steak was cooked, medium and It was delicious. It was mouthwatering the right touch of seasoned and grilled just right with a touch of char on the outside It was cooked to perfection. ”

“ This was recommended to us by locals and it didn't disappoint. We started with the beets which was amazing and very flavorful. We then split the rib eye and got it medium rare + and it was PERFECT. We also got the bone marrow and that was good, but we had to ask for crostinis which took awhile to get. Food was really good, but the service was okay. Our waiter had great recs but I had to ask several times to get a refill of water. It was pretty loud and would have appreciated a little more from the wait staff, but overall a great steak place. ”

“ Doris Metropolitan has been on my radar for quite some time, so mom and I stopped in for a drink at the bar. This Mediterranean inspired steakhouse is known for its high-quality meats, but you can also get premium seafood and high-end caviar service as well. The ambience is classy & elegant and you will receive a friendly welcome when you arrive. We sat at the bar and the lovely Jaz took care of us. Two Grey Goose Martini's dry - one with Blue Cheese stuffed olives for me and regular olives for mom. We ordered the Truffle Fries to share, and Jaz asked if we wanted some bread. I was initially going to say no, but I'm so glad I said yes because the bread was amazing! There were three types - Jalapeno Cheddar, Onion, & Sesame Brioche. They were fresh & hot out of the oven and were served with three different butters and a tomato confit with olive oil & balsamic. Each one was delicious, and it was obvious that the bread is baked in house. The truffle fries were also very good, and our martinis were excellent. Based on the exceptional service and the life changing bread platter, I will definitely come back for a sit-down meal here. I'll may even have to splurge on the caviar! “ I did a ton of research so I could take my boyfriend to a special birthday dinner during our visit and, after much deliberation (NOLA is PACKED with amazing dining options!), I decided to make my reservation for Doris Metropolitan. And when I tell you that this was my favorite meal of our entire trip (maybe even so far this year?!) I am NOT playing around! First off, the wine menu is EXTENSIVE. Luckily, they have an in-house somm. to help you decide. We ended up going with a bottle from a little town we visited in Bordeaux, St. Emilion. It was divine. For food, we started off with the beets and the cheese board, both of which were incredible. And the bread basket with the assorted butters was quickly devoured as well. For dinner, we went with the Butcher's Cut and the Tenderloin. The Butcher's Cut came with mushrooms and the Tenderloin came with bone marrow. The steaks were perfectly seasoned, perfectly tender, and perfectly cooked. It was like eating a dream. On top of the food being incredible, our service was impeccable. Our server was so sweet and had the best sense of humor (not stuffy or uppity AT ALL). We truly enjoyed our time with her and if I'm ever back in New Orleans again (and I hope I will be) I will absolutely be coming back! ”
